Five women including a would-be bride died on Tuesday when a huge fire broke out in a house located here at Satellite Town where wedding preparations were taking place. The police and rescue official said that four women died on the spot while another succumbed to her injuries at hospital. The victims were identified as would-be bride, Sana Chaudhry, 24, Hina, 14, Hafza 20, Manahil, 25, and Nayna, 22. Fire gutted the upper portion of house. The thick clouds of smoke could be seen from far away areas.

The police and family sources said that wedding ceremony of Sana Chaudhry, the daughter of Chaudhary Tariq, was underway at the house. After performing Henna function, many girls went to sleep in a room located on the first floor of the house, they said.

Soon after getting information, the rescue officials and police rushed to the scene to douse fire. The rescue official shifted the dead bodies to the hospital and handed over them to their families after fulfilling legal formalities.

According the preliminary investigation, rooms had been filled with gas leaked from a compressor due to which the women lost consciousness and then the fire erupted that gutted the house.
